Class Trip to Dorney Park - June 2, 2025
Details will be provided to seniors by their class advisors, Ms. Thorburn and Ms. Mojka.
Senior Breakfast & Yearbook Signing - June 17, 2025
Seniors are to report to the bleacher and concession area at 8:30 am. Seniors will be provided with light breakfast items. There will be time for yearbook signing and socializing. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the East Gym. Yearbooks will be distributed prior to the breakfast. (Yearbook Distribution Date, TBA)
Class of 2025, Elementary School Tour - June 17, 2025
A bus will leave from the JDHS Auditorium at 10:30 am. Graduates will be transported to the elementary schools. At each school, they will take a celebratory walk through the hallways. Graduates who want to participate must complete a permission form and sign up for the trip. A sign-up link will be provided.
Commencement Rehearsal
Rehearsals will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 10:00 am. Seniors must report to the JDHS East Gym for staging with the staff member noted below:

As the table above notes, the assigned teachers will marshal students for the ceremony. This will be added at a later date.
Commencement Ceremony

The JDHS commencement ceremony will be held on Wed, June 18, 2025, at 6:00 pm, on the JDHS turf field. Seniors must report to the Auditorium by 5:00 pm for staging.

In the event of rain, the graduation ceremony will be moved indoors to Halsey Hall (JDHS auditorium). Seniors must report to the East Gym by 5:00 pm for staging.

Each senior will be provided with six tickets for guests. Three of those tickets will be stamped for indoor seating. In the event of inclement weather, and the ceremony is moved indoors, only the stamped ticket holders will be allowed in the auditorium. All other ticket holders will be directed to the cafeteria where the ceremony will be live-streamed.

Graduates will receive a diploma cover at the ceremony. Diplomas must be picked up on Monday, June 23rd, between 9 am and 12 pm, in the auditorium.
Commencement Apparel

Caps and Gowns Purchase: Jostens provided the link for cap and gown orders: CLICK TO ORDER CAP & GOWN. The cost for the cap and gown is $33.50, to be paid directly to Jostens. Caps and gowns will be issued in the main office on June 10th after finals and continuing during the week of finals after noon. We recommend students try on the cap and gown when they get home. Students must contact Mrs. Tina Ferreira (x5240) if the fit has a problem. The link above is also for submission of how families want graduates' names to appear on their diplomas.

Dress shirt or Polo shirt and khakis (no jeans or shorts), socks and shoes (no sneakers or sandals)

Light solid-colored dress, skirt or pants (no prints), comfortable dress shoes (no flip flops or pointed heels over 2” for safety reasons)

No sunglasses, backpacks, or purses are permitted.

Only school-issued or approved sashes/stoles or chords will be permitted. Approved gown adornments (Pins, Sashes, Hoods, Patches, Chords, Medals) issued by the school include the National Honors Society, National Art Honor Society, Academic Excellence, Dayton Collegiate Academy, Blood Donor, TRI M Music Honor Society, Class Officers. Other approved sashes include those indicating military enlistment and those celebrating a student’s culture or ethnicity. Sashes can not exceed five inches in width. Stoles can not exceed five inches in width or 72 inches in length.

Cap Decorations: Students are permitted to decorate the top of their caps. Decorations can identify post-secondary education plans or the branch of military service the student has enlisted in.

Only arrive on the day of commencement wearing approved items.
Obligations
Each senior must understand that all obligations must be met prior to receiving their diploma.

- Athletic equipment returned
- Textbooks fines
- Cafeteria fines
- Technology payments (lost or damaged items)
- Student ID returned - Due at diploma pick up
- Outstanding Detentions (See Mr. Telesca)
- Volunteer Hours Forms (See your assigned school counselor)
Senior iPad Return Schedule - TBD
The technology department will announce the dates and times senior students can start returning laptops. We anticipate that they will be available during the week of final exams for seniors to return their laptops early.
