Principal's Message
Dear Dayton Families,
Welcome to the Jonathan Dayton High School and Dayton Grade 8 Academy website! This site is designed to inform parents and students about the support and opportunities available to our learners, announce school and community events, and celebrate the achievements of our students in academics, the arts, and athletics.
At Dayton, student intellectual growth is our top priority. Our dedicated faculty and staff have developed a robust program of studies—differentiated to provide appropriate levels of rigor and designed to ensure all students are prepared for college and career success. Please explore our Program of Studies, available under the Quick Links section on our home page.
We also place a strong emphasis on social and emotional development. Our teachers and support staff work intentionally to help students build positive relationships, develop resilience, and engage in thoughtful goal setting. The Dayton school counseling team serves as an important resource for both parents and students. We invite you to review our School Counseling Services, also available under Quick Links.
Finally, we believe that involvement in extracurricular activities is a vital part of the secondary school experience. Students are encouraged to explore their interests, pursue their passions, and form lasting connections through our wide range of clubs, organizations, and athletic programs. Learn more about these opportunities by exploring the links below.
Parents are encouraged to view this website as an invitation to get involved. A successful educational experience relies greatly on a strong partnership between home and school. This site offers a variety of helpful links and tools designed to strengthen that connection. Two such resources include:
A wonderful way for parents to get involved is by joining the JDHS Parent, Teacher, Student Organization (PTSO). More information about the PTSO can be found at the following link: Dayton PTA/PTSO. This organization works to enrich the experience of students in Grades 8 through 12.
Thank you for visiting the Dayton website. Please contact us with any questions.
Regards,
Dr. Francis
