Principal's Message

Dear JDHS Community,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Jonathan Dayton High School website!  The aim of this site is to inform parents and students of the support and opportunities available to students, announce school and related community events, and to celebrate the achievements of our students in the areas of academics, the arts and athletics!

Student intellectual growth is the primary goal of the JDHS faculty and staff.  Towards that aim, we have developed a robust program of studies, differentiated to provide students with appropriate levels of rigor, and designed to ultimately help all students become college and career ready. Please explore the JDHS course offerings detailed in our Program of Studies, found under the Quick Links section, on the JDHS Home Page.

Student social and emotional development is also a critical focus at JDHS. Teachers, support staff work with intent to help students navigate interpersonal relationships, find constructive ways to handle challenges, and engage in thoughtful and meaningful goal setting. The JDHS School Counseling team serves important contacts and support for parents and students. Please review our School Counseling resources by clicking on the School Counseling Services link, under the Quick Links section, on the JDHS Home Page

Involvement in extracurricular activities and student organizations is an important part of the high school experience. We provide a variety of opportunities for students to explore their talents, follow a passion, and develop positive social relationships with schoolmates. Explore our offerings at the following links:

Parents are encouraged to see this website as an invitation to get involved.  A successful education experience for students relies heavily on the quality of the partnership between home and school.  This website contains many useful links and tools geared towards strengthening the partnership between home and school. The following are two such links:

A great way for parents to get involved is to join the JDHS PTSO (Parent, Teacher, Student Organization). Information about the PTSO can be found at the following link: PTA/PTSO - Jonathan Dayton High School

Thank you for visiting the JDHS website. Please contact us with any questions.

Regards,

Dr. Francis
