Jonathan Dayton High School Gymnastics is dedicated to helping all participants reach their potential, both physically and mentally, through the sport of gymnastics. It is our mission to provide athletes that possess the ability and desire with an opportunity to explore competitive gymnastics in a safe, fun, and positive learning environment. Our high school gymnastics program is made up of athletes from Jonathan Dayton as
well as David Brearley High School. We are looking forward to another great season in the fall of 2022.
The expectations of the Dayton Gymnastics program are to produce self-disciplined, self-determined, and compassionate athletes able to train and find success as
individuals and as a team, in and out of the gym. It is expected that all athletes follow appropriate standards of behavior and all rules and regulations set forth by the
gymnastics team and Jonathan Dayton High School.
Gymnasts will -
Attend practice every day
Be supportive teammates
Be respectful and show sportsmanship at all times
Understand there are consequences for your actions
Communicate with coaches and teammates
Competition Line up:
We are a performance-based program that competes as one Varsity team. All participants practice and compete together. We will look at skill level, ability, effort,
attitude, teamwork and other factors throughout the course of the season to determine who qualifies for a Varsity letter. Each dual meet will have a new line up based on scores from the previous meet. Throughout the season, gymnasts will be added to and removed from the competitive line-up as needed.
All gymnasts are expected to attend every practice and every meet. Gymnasts
who are not competing that day will be asked to help out at meets, flashing scores, timing events, compiling scores, etc.
