2022-2023 Free/Reduced Meals

 

Dear Springfield Public Schools Community, 

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! 

Over the last two years, the district participated in the USDA National School Lunch Program’s Seamless Summer Option, and our participation made it possible for all of our students to receive free lunches due to federal funding related to COVID-19.  The USDA is not continuing that funding in the coming year, and this letter is to update you on our food services costs. 

In the 2022-2023 school year, the district will continue to participate in the USDA National School Breakfast and Lunch programs, providing access to healthy meals for Springfield students.  Parents will be able to pay for student meals through the MySchoolBucks program. Information about signing up for MySchoolBucks is available on our website.

Please note that your student(s) may qualify for free or reduced-price meal(s).  We encourage all parents to complete the Application for Free and Reduced Prices meals to determine your eligibility.

The Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals is also used to determine P-EBT benefits as well as state and federal funding for district programs.
