JDHS Departments

Student intellectual growth is the primary goal of the JDHS faculty and staff.  Towards that aim, we have developed a robust program of studies, differentiated to provide students with appropriate levels of rigor, and designed to ultimately help all students become college and career ready. Please explore the JDHS course offerings detailed in our Program of Studies, found under the School Links section at the top of the JDHS Homepage.

Humanities

We study history to learn how we arrived to where we are now; to understand what worked for people in the past, and to attempt not to make mistakes made in the past.

World Language

The World Language Department is dedicated to motivating and expanding students’ capacity to speak a foreign language to encourage a competitive attitude in a global society. In order to achieve this goal, the department provides a solid, integral program focusing on speaking, listening, reading and writing in the target language.
